Hydraulic Tilt Bed for Easier Vehicle Loading
One of the main features of the Brian James A-Transporter is its hydraulic tilt bed, which helps reduce the loading angle when driving or winching a vehicle onto the trailer.
This is particularly useful when transporting sports cars, track cars and other vehicles with relatively low ground clearance.
As demonstrated in our video, the trailer bed can be tilted using its hydraulic mechanism, allowing the loading ramps to be positioned at a shallower angle.
The bed is then returned to its travelling position and secured before towing.
Manual Winch for Vehicle Loading
Both of our A-Transporters are equipped with a manual winch, conveniently positioned at the front of the trailer.
The winch is particularly useful when transporting vehicles that cannot be driven, such as non-running project cars, vehicles requiring recovery or cars that need to be carefully pulled onto the trailer.
In our video, we demonstrate the winch's main features and basic operation.
Always ensure that the winch is correctly operated and attached to a suitable recovery point on the vehicle being loaded.
Extendable 6ft Loading Ramps
Our Brian James car transporters are fitted with extendable 6ft loading ramps, designed to work alongside the hydraulic tilt bed.
The combination of the ramps and tilting bed helps provide a gradual approach angle when loading a vehicle.
In the video, we demonstrate how the ramps are extended, positioned and returned to their storage position after use.
Before loading any vehicle, it's important to ensure the ramps are correctly positioned and secured in accordance with the trailer's operating instructions.
Storage Locker and Equipment
At the front of the A-Transporter is a built-in storage locker, providing a convenient location for trailer equipment and accessories.
In our video, we take a look inside the locker and show you the equipment and features available on the trailer.
Before collecting your trailer, we recommend checking whether you require any additional equipment, such as wheel securing straps, for your particular vehicle.
How to Hitch a Brian James Car Trailer
Our A-Transporters use a braked towball coupling, with a jockey wheel, handbrake, breakaway cable and electrical connection.
In the video, we demonstrate the basic process of hitching the trailer to a suitable tow vehicle.
This includes positioning the trailer coupling over the towball, lowering it into place using the jockey wheel, checking that the coupling is securely engaged, attaching the breakaway cable correctly, securing the jockey wheel and connecting the trailer electrics.
Before setting off, always ensure the coupling is properly engaged, the handbrake is released, the lights are working and the trailer is safe for travel.
You should also confirm that your vehicle and driving licence are suitable for the weight of the trailer and its load.
